The act of drawing
The simple act of drawing plays an important role in a child's emotional and cognitive development. Drawing provides young children the freedom to express their thoughts and emotions with such innocence and purity.
What is interesting in this study is that the subject matter in all the drawings is relatively similar; this is because kids are impressionable and will mimic the content in each other’s drawings, as well as being more anxious to conform to their peers. However, the composition of space and order are unique to the individual child.
Children interpret the world in their own unique way, and through their drawings can represent their active knowledge on a subject.
