Edinburgh Play Rangers:

The City of Play were approached by Edinburgh City Council to design and deliver a presentation on the Muirhouse Play Ranger project.

The pitch was conducted alongside representatives from The Yard and Inspiring Scotland and was initiated to raise awareness of the positive play ranger projects undertaken during summer 2014, while sparking a discussion on ideas for the future of play in Edinburgh.

We used this as an opportunity to gain support in our argument for play in the city and to push for a rethink in how we design and plan for play. We have a responsibility, not only in Muirhouse but throughout the urban environment, to facilitate opportunities for ‘free play’, to uphold the rights of the child and allow children to re-colonise the city, to take risks, learn and discover.
