In the midst of a very uncertain year, we were commissioned by Croftfoot Primary School in south Glasgow to transform a selection of their outdoor spaces to promote creativity, provide opportunities for imaginative play, and most importantly, facilitate a warm and welcoming environment for students, staff, and families alike.

Our proposal was centred around 2 main spaces: at the main entrance, a colourful welcome message featuring the school slogan of 'Be Here. Be You. Belong.' (formerly 'Dare To Do Right') and in the junior playground, a zoning system using colour and form as the main design drivers.Inspired by 'loose parts play', collaged and scattered block shapes feature amongst a mix of linework and grids, deliberately created so as to tie in with a series of yellow play frames also installed as part of this project.
